| Hi all! First off thank you for your time & help. I have been using Studio One for a couple months now(Free version, came with a MIDI keyboard I bought) and now that I am started to get the hang of using a DAW, I've been wanting to upgrade to a better version but I have a major problem. Studio One 'messes' with my computer/speakers. Here is whats happening. If I have a program open that has the capability of producing sound(Internet, iTunes, ect) before I open Studio One, Studio One will not produce any sound through the speakers. Studio One will function normally(registers key strokes, edit tracks & such) except for playing sound through my speakers. Now if I have Studio One open first and open another program, the opposite happens. Studio One will play sounds and function completely normally, but the other program(s) will not play sounds through the speakers. Everything functioning perfectly normal, except for what is happening with the sound. Anyone have any idea how to alleviate this problem? I really like Studio One and am very appreciative of what is included with the free version compared to other DAWs and would rather purchase Studio One than another but to me this is a very large problem and do not want to spend the money unless I can fix this. I have looked through the FAQs and searched the forums and couldn't find anyone else who had this problem. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks & have a good day. |

| That seems to have done it! Thanks a bunch! EDIT: After playing around with it for a bit there are still some similar problems. I cannot get more than 1 program to make sound at once. I will get no sound from Studio One if; -Studio One was not opened first -If I tab out of Studio One -If another program plays sound after Studio One has been opened, Studio One gets completely muted and I have to close all programs and re-open them My other programs seem to operate just fine since Studio One likes to mute itself. Is there any way to completely bypass this function? |
| I will often have an input in Studio One set up with bass or guitar amp modeling software, and have iTunes open and practice along with a playlist. Both programs output audio through my FireStudio Projects at the same time with no issues and I don't think it makes any difference on the order in which I open applications I know it's possible to do what (I think) you're trying to do, but it's unclear to me exactly where you're going wrong.
